Music of the world in Frankfurt

What does “music of the world” mean for artists today, and for the diverse population of Frankfurt? Is the term “world music” still appropriate? What is the relationship between “music of the world” and the music of Frankfurt’s diverse communities with a migration background? How do Frankfurt’s musicians situate themselves and their music? The Alte Oper Frankfurt and AMKA (the City of Frankfurt Office for Multicultural Matters) invite us to reflect together on these questions and to design future programmes. We will be offering four workshops on the theme, with one taking place before each of the concerts in the Music of the World series.

Please note that the workshops will be held in German.
