The Alte Oper for beginners
We admit it: "Come in" is our lure! We want to entice all those who still know the Alte Oper mainly from the outside and who can hardly imagine what a powerful experience a classical concert can be. We would like to introduce classical music newcomers to our world, while also enabling them to interact with those who may still feel just as foreign to it.
May we be of assistance?
Our walk-in community meets in the Newcomer Lounge an hour before the concert begins. There, presenter Christiane Hillebrand will introduce you to the adventure of classical music, tell you about the background of the evening's works and the performers. Musicians and staff of the Alte Oper will share their world with you and get you in the mood for the concert evening.
Among like-minded people
We give you the opportunity to exchange ideas with other people who are just as little "in the know" - but who, just like you, would like to experience a wonderful concert evening. You will find like-minded people at the interval meeting or at the informal get-together after the concert.

You are welcome to leave the choice of seats to us - we will find you a good seat for an attractive price. Included in the price: a visit to the Newcomer Lounge and a guided tour of the house at a later date.
All concert dates are in the first half of 2024. Advance booking for these begins in autumn 2023, the date for the guided tour will be announced then.
